Freshman psychology major Shyra Bluminberg uses a Booth Library umbrella to stay dry Monday afternoon. Blumingberg said she checked out an umbrella for the first time after becoming aware of being able to check out umbrella’s from seeing other students with them. Booth Library Specialist Kathleen Kuhlig-Carter said the library has about 60-to-80 umbrellas students can check out for three days at a time and asks that students try to return them in good condition.

Dr. Sibdas Ghosh met with students and Eastern faculty and staff Tuesday in the Tuscola/Arcola Room. Ghosh, currenlty Dean of the school of arts and biology professor at Iona college in New York, is the final candidate to visit Eastern.
Special education professor Mei-Ling Li played piano as part of the entertainment at the Taste of Asia kick off reception Tuesday in the Doudna Fine Arts Center. Guest were treated to a variety of food options and guest speakers to start Asian Heritage Month.
Jackie Mortillaro visited Eastern Wednesday to share her experience as a survivor of rape. Mortillaro stressed the importance of realizing that whatever you are going through, you are not alone. Somebody out there has risen above the same thing you are going through.
Maggie Thomas, a bio pre-med major poses while senior sociology major Kian Gaines draws her in Professor Jenny Chi’s advanced drawing class in the Doudna Fine Arts Center. Thomas said she enjoys the opportunity to model because it allows her to help others to study.
